Caitlin Speaks:
If you're wondering why my posting slowed suddenly, you can blame Ryan. For it is he who returned me to one of my former geek obsessions that he originally got me playing in the first place. What is this strange thing that could possibly drive me from my blog you ask?
It's Warcrack.
Otherwise known as "World of Warcraft." To give a definition from "Caitlin's Dictionary of Stuff you Should Know. . ."
Warcrack WAWR-Krak Noun. [Derived from "World of Warcraft" Orig. ENG 2004]
1. A MMORPG of ridiculously huge proportions, with top-notch graphics, incredible player interaction, very few and far between load screens, cool swag, and monthly fees.
2. An addictive substance that should not be touched under any circumstances. Said to lead to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, lack of a real life, excessive overeating of junk or under-eating of food in general (due to forgetfulness), loss of time, caffeine overdoses, lack of sleep and mild OCD due to wanting to "Twink" out all your main characters and/or alts.

When all is said and done, no matter how I might complain, Warcraft is fun. Almost painfully so. I'm no noob, but I'm no expert at the game either. I just find it enjoyable. I'm a bit profession-obsessed (aside from your class in Warcraft you can pick two professions that typically help you out. I'm a Mage with Tailoring- for all my cloth-armor needs!- and Enchanting- to make my, and everyone else's gear better!), and thought currently my character is statted out in such a way that she looks like she'd be a PvP character, I don't do PvP. Why? Because while there are a lot of great players out there, there are also those jackasses who do nothing but kill you and corpse-camp you so they can kill you again and again. I'm a pacifistic player. If I didn't kill you repeatedly, why must you do that to me? Really, it's those gamers that give the rest of us a bad name. (In case anyone wanted to check stats this is me.)

Warcraft is also disgustingly pretty. On a Mac the graphics are especially good. We're talking very high end here. That and other reasons are why Warcraft costs so much. You're getting a beautiful, complicated, multi-layered game that only really starts when you hit the highest level. I kid you not. Plus they keep on putting out expansions, so it never gets old. In other words, it's the ultimate in addictive gaming.
However, I am going to do my best to get some new posts up soon, including a nice two part rant I like to call "It's Not Easy Being Game." Hopefully that will amuse you all.
Until next time!
